The Baby Room at Elswick House is a large, bright and sunny room, big enough for nine babies up to eighteen months. Emma, the Baby Room Leader, is in charge and, helped by Dawn, Harriet and Sam, all well qualified and experienced Nursery Nurses, the babies are able to enjoy lots of fun and exciting activities, using a wide range of toys and equipment.
Each day there is a different activity - maybe music with a variety of instruments to bang, shake, rattle and roll; maybe the sensory box, with its choice of contents giving different textures, shapes, and colours. There is usually a craft activity - the favourite is always the paint. The children may use brushes, they may use their hands and they have been known to strip down to their nappies and use their whole bodies!
The Baby Room also has its own sand pit and paddling pool, and we like the babies to get lots of fresh air, exploring the garden and going on lots of local walks.
